How to use that blog
If you are on this page it is undoubtedly that you are a bit lost or that you want to learn from it more on my site. Good or bad point for me, I am going to try to rectify this, you will see it is very simple.
On top of that site you can find some fixed pages like “Home“, “About The Author“, and “How To Use That Blog“.
- Home allows you to go back at every instants at the beginning of the blog, rather simple.
- About The Author allows you to know more about me or rather about the fact that I want to say about me.
- How To Use That Blog, it is that page with some explanation of the organisation of that blog..
Before, there was a page allowing you to register in the publication of the articles of this site. From now on, I replaced it with a form and button which is on the top of the site “subscribe “. It will allow you to receive a message for every publication of new articles.
The heart of my blog is around the homepage. First of all, the big white part to the left introduces successively:
- Five articles put forward or “Top Stories“. By clicking, on arrows in the border of each pictures, you can see these different articles. By clicking in the middle of the picture you can go directly to the concerned article. Any time to return, you just have to click on “Home” on top of the site.
- Just underneath, is the last articles organised in thumb-indexes according to the categories which I wanted to put forward. To choose a category, it is enough to click on the thumb-index in question and, for accessing the article it is enough to click over. Any time to return, you just have to click on “Home” on top of the site.
- To finish, articles are introduced underneath by chronological order with the most recent in first. In principle, you should see only a part of the article with a link “Read the full article…”. Sometimes, I forget to insert this function, so you can see the full article here. Any time to return, you just have to click on “Home”.
On the right side, a little darker, it is a kind of tool box for the navigation which allows:
- To do researches with the first box. By keyboarded a word directly with the thumb-index “Search“, by choosing “Archives” one month in archives with the thumb-index or by achieving categories with the thumb-index “Categories“
- Just underneath there are three photos which are use for nothing at the moment, apart to make pretty. When I will find the way to use them, they should drive you on my picture gallery which is not in the same place as the blog.
- Then, a paving allows you to achieve easily 5 last published articles calendared with the most recent above.
- The column of fair left underneath the last articles, allows you to navigate among categories, to achieve the most read articles directly and finally to consult the last comments (perhaps your one?).
- The right column, shows some pictures coming from my web gallery, some links of sites on which I go rather often, then a kind of tool box who allows you, for example, to register as member of this site or to configure the automatic update by RSS feed.
A last point on the organisation of articles. It is one more time very simple.
- The first category called “General items” (and its sub-categories) it is my everything when I don’t know where to put an article. Here you will find generality on my web site or my moods which I cannot attach to a country.
- The category “Reading” (and its sub-categories) regroups the books which I read in trip. This often begins with the guide of trip, then some reading were devoted to the country in question.
- The category “Photography” (and its sub-categories) regroups articles devoted to the photography. According to the article, it can also be present in other categories like “Reading” or “Travelling” or be specific for this category.
- The category “Diving” (and its sub-categories) regroups articles devoted to the photography. According to the article, it can also be present in other categories like “Reading” or “Travelling” or be specific for this category.
- Categories under “Travelling” (and its sub-categories) are simply my stories and notes about travelling plus the books which you have in “Reading” as well as the photographies of the category “photography” when they concern one of my travel. With a view to simplification, I do not put article directly in the category “Travelling” therefore by clicking over you will acces to all travelling articles sorted by chronological order without caring about countries which are in subcategory.
Here you know everything about the use of my blog. If you have any suggestions, it will be great. Besides just underneath all the articles, you can deposit a comment, it is made for this, then do not hesitate, this gives the impression that this blog is alive…
